Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 6, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Guiware LLC (“Pingly,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles your information when you use the Pingly mobile app and this website (together, the “Service”).
Pingly is a network utility that runs on your device. The short version: there is no account to create, we do not collect the results of your pings, and the sessions, saved hosts, and settings you build up stay on your phone. What little we do handle is covered below.
Information We Collect
Data that stays on your device
Your ping sessions, the latency and loss figures they produce, the hosts you save, and your app settings are stored locally on your phone. This information is not sent to us and we cannot see it. It stays on the device until you delete it or remove the app.
The hosts you ping
When you ping a host, your device sends network packets to the hostname or IP address you entered so it can reach that host and time the reply. That traffic goes to the host you chose, not to us. Pingly never pings anything on its own; it only contacts the hosts you point it at.
Messages you send us
If you contact us through our contact page, we receive the information you provide, such as your name, email address, and the contents of your message, so we can respond.
Website analytics
This website may use privacy-respecting analytics to understand aggregate traffic, such as which pages are visited. This applies to the website only, not the app, and it is not tied to your identity. The app itself contains no analytics or tracking.
Diagnostic data
If you choose to share crash and performance diagnostics with developers through your device settings, Apple may pass us anonymized reports. We use these only to find and fix problems. You can turn this off in iOS at any time.
How We Use Your Information
We use the limited information described above to:
- Respond to your questions and support requests.
- Diagnose problems, fix bugs, and improve the app.
- Understand general website traffic.
- Comply with legal obligations.
How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not track you across apps or websites. We share information only in these limited circumstances:
- Service providers. We use trusted hosting and infrastructure providers to run this website and handle contact messages. They process data only on our behalf and only as needed to provide their services to us.
- Legal reasons. We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or an enforceable governmental request, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users, the public, or Guiware LLC.
- Business transfers. If Guiware LLC is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.
Data Security
Because your app data lives on your device, its security is tied to your device and its passcode or biometric lock. For the information we do handle, such as contact messages, we use industry-standard safeguards and limit access to what is necessary. No method of transmission or storage is ever completely secure, but we work to protect your information and to promptly address any issues that arise.
Data Retention
Your app data is kept on your device for as long as you keep it there. Deleting a session, clearing your history, or removing the app deletes the associated data from your phone. We retain contact messages for as long as needed to handle your request and to keep a record of our correspondence.
Your Rights and Choices
You are in control of your data. You can:
- Delete individual sessions or clear your history from within the app.
- Remove the app to delete its local data from your device.
- Access, correct, or request deletion of any message you have sent us.
To make a request about information we hold, reach us through our contact page.
Children’s Privacy
Pingly is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
International Users
Pingly is operated from the United States. If you contact us from outside the United States, the information in your message will be processed and stored in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country.
Third-Party Services
The Service relies on a few third parties, including the Apple App Store for distribution, and hosting and analytics providers for this website. These third parties have their own privacy practices, which we do not control.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. If we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to let you know.
